Tottenham man brutally told he has no ‘future’ with club and ‘should’ be sold after ample interest
Some have said that Tottenham player Ryan Sessegnon “should go” because he isn’t going to have “a future at Spurs” and would “benefit” more elsewhere.
For the whole of his time with the Spurs, Sessegnon has been sidelined by ailments. Injuries to the hamstrings, which have occurred often, have been the main source of issues in recent seasons.
After sitting out 22 games last season due to a hamstring ailment, he missed seven games in 2021–22.
following re-injuring his hamstring following surgery, the Englishman has yet to play a minute of Premier League action this season.
While Antonio Conte was in charge, he gave him as many minutes as possible, but no north London manager has ever given him a permanent role.
With 13 starts (or almost all of them) in the Premier League during the 2021/22 season, Sessegnon helped Tottenham finish in fourth place. He continued his strong play the next year.
After Conte left last season, it is uncertain if Ange Postecoglou or any of the interim managers would have given him regular playing time this season had he been healthy.
Some have speculated that Sessegnon’s tenure at Tottenham is coming to an end, despite the fact that he has not been given an opportunity to demonstrate his abilities under Postecoglou.
Controversial: Sessegnon informed of his “future at Spurs”
Indeed, journalist Dan Kilpatrick thinks they should let the wide receiver go since he isn’t going anywhere.
I believe Sessegnon ought to leave, and I think he will go. A new beginning would be beneficial for him as it would for anybody else. On The Tottenham Way, he said that Conte had a strong opinion of him and that he had received a lot of attention from clubs throughout the summer.
I don’t see a future for him at Spurs, but I do hope he can recover and play again.
Because of his injuries, he has had limited opportunities to prove his worth under the current administration, thus it may be a little unfair to say he has no future.
But Tottenham won’t be interested in keeping him on the sidelines if he never recovers completely.
Success depends on how well Sessegnon fits the bill
Although Kilpatrick’s claim that Sessegnon had summer suitors suggests they should be able to trade him now, it’s important to remember that this was after a season in which teams probably believed Sessegnon’s injury would heal on its own.
There is a lot of uncertainty about what teams will receive in return for Sessegnon this summer due to his 42 consecutive Premier League absences.
