Two key Tottenham players spotted back at Hotspur Way ahead of Crystal Palace this weekend
Ange Postecoglou seems to have had a significant improvement in his training regimen ahead of Crystal Palace’s trip to Tottenham Hotspur this coming weekend.
After a disappointing run in February that ended with a loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers, Postecoglou had two extended weeks off to work on his Spurs team.
Tottenham’s month was far from awful, but with just four points out of a potential nine, Postecoglou’s team trailed behind in the quest for fourth place.
The most disheartening aspect, however, may have been that this was meant to be the month when everything came together once again.
Even with Son Heung-min and Yves Bissouma returning from international competitions and Micky van de Ven and James Maddison returning from injuries, their performances fell flat.
Journalist Alasdair Gold expressed optimism that the team will return with a new outlook, believing Postecoglou had some pressing matters to attend to over the break.
That being said, there are many reasons to be optimistic and it’s not all bad news.
Additionally, it seems that Postecoglou may start his first-choice full-backs against Palace based on a video that Tottenham just posted on Tik Tok.
Prior to Palace, Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie arrive at Tottenham’s training facility
In the Spurs film promoting EA SPORTS FC, Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie were both shown coming for training at Hotspur Way.
Furthermore, it ought to be excellent news considering how difficult it has been for Ben Davies and Emerson Royal to fill in for the two.
Specifically, Royal demonstrated that he was not fully prepared for the rigors of Postecoglou’s rather unusual full-back position.
And maybe it explains why, as Tottenham looks to advance, the Brazilian ought to be among the first players off the roster this summer.
If Porro and Udogie do well in training and are prepared to start for Tottenham versus Palace, we could get a sneak peak at Postecoglou’s best starting lineup when everyone is healthy.
The most important choices will undoubtedly be made in the midfield and on offense.
Once again, Postecoglou must choose two among Yves Bissouma, Rodrigo Bentancur, and Pape Matar Sarr.
Additionally, it seems that Richarlison and Son, Timo Werner, Brennan Johnson, and Dejan Kulusevski are vying for the same slot in the attacking line.
