Levy tipped to accept £60M offer for divisive Tottenham star as source claims ‘he will be sold’

According to a reliable Spurs insider, Daniel Levy, the chairman of Tottenham, is expected to let go of Richarlison this summer. The Brazilian player’s eventual destination is also becoming known.

Since moving from Everton to north London in the summer of 2022—a transfer that cost an initial £50 million and will increase to £60 million if all incentives are met—the attacker has become a contentious figure. This would make the 26-year-old the most expensive player the club has ever signed, surpassing the £54 million paid to Lyon for midfielder Tanguy Ndombele. He is set to start on Saturday night when England hosts Brazil in a famous friendly at Wembley.

Richarlison had a lackluster first season with the club, managing only three goals in 35 appearances. However, under Ange Postecoglou’s direction, the attacker has blossomed, scoring 11 goals in his first 27 games. This is by no means a terrible return.

But the Tottenham supporters, who often see the striker as a bit of a frustrating figure, have never completely warmed up to him.

In addition, it has recently been claimed that Spurs chairman Levy is open to considering the 48-time Brazil international’s departure in order to help finance the acquisition of a new summer addition, amid rumors that Spurs are looking at a more consistent source of goals for the next campaign.

To that end, as the Gulf State country plans the next stage of their ambition to get more famous names to play in their Pro-League, rumors of a lucrative transfer to Saudi Arabia have started to pick up steam in recent weeks.

Levy may thus soon have the opportunity to maybe get a full refund on the 100-goal star.

Experts say Levy is eager to sell the Tottenham star for the appropriate price.

Speaking on the Gold and Guest Tottenham podcast, Football London writer Alasdair Gold expressed his belief that Levy has a good probability of making a profit on Richarlison this summer.

“I’m interested to follow Richarlison’s journey this summer. All the signs point to the possibility of another bid from a Saudi team,” Gold said.

“If you were to receive your £60 million money back, would you accept it?”

Given that assertion, former Tottenham employee Bryan Gold thinks that, should a solid offer for his services be received, a relocation to Saudi Arabia would be advantageous for all parties.

He told Tottenham News, “I believe Tottenham would accept a bid for Richarlison.”

Daniel Levy may be in for some good news if the spending is comparable to what we have seen Saudi teams do in the past.

Additionally, I believe that Richarlison would be a perfect fit for the transfer. He would fit in Saudi Arabia considerably better than he would at Tottenham the next season, in my opinion.

“Tottenham could make another significant move in the summer thanks to this move.”

Richarlison’s Spurs deal is set to expire on June 30, 2027, but it still has more than three years left on it.
