Journalist thinks 21yr old Premier League star is gettable for Spurs in January
Journalist Dean Jones thinks Spurs might be able to lure Jarrad Branthwaite away from Everton in January, despite what other media have said over the last week.
After returning from a loan stint at PSV Eindhoven, Branthwaite established himself as a staple in Sean Dyche’s backline this season, and the England Under-21 international’s reputation continues to improve.
Over the last week, a number of media outlets have said that while the young talent is at the top of Spurs’ wishlist, the Toffees are anticipated to reject the Lilywhites’ offer for the teenager (Sky Sports).
Football Transfers even said a few days ago that the Merseysiders will seek about £75 million from Tottenham for the 21-year-old defender because they believe he will be a regular for England in the future.
Jarrad Branthwaite may join the Spurs in January
Nonetheless, given Everton’s financial difficulties, Jones believes that Tottenham and Branthwaite’s other suitors may have a “window of opportunity.”
In response to a question regarding the rumors surrounding the center back’s future, the journalist told GiveMeSport: “I think there are a few clubs circling thinking they can get a bargain out of Everton because they can take advantage of their financial position. That is the issue that Everton face.”
You must bear in mind that the club is now dependent on monthly loans from a possible buyer to stay afloat, and that cannot continue.
“Thus, I believe Everton will exert every effort to secure Braithwaite, but I believe other clubs are attempting to capitalize on the brief window of opportunity there.”

Undoubtedly, Tottenham would need to spend a lot of money to get Branthwaite, and considering that Romero and Van van Ven will still be Postecoglou’s first-choice center back duo, I just can not see Spurs spending more than £50 million for a center back next month.
