Tottenham’s rising talent Mikey Moore has once again shown why many believe he is the future of the club, scoring his first hat-trick for England’s Under-19 side in their 4-1 win over Belgium in Marbella.
The young winger delivered a standout performance, reminding everyone of the immense potential that has made him one of the most talked-about prospects in English football.
Still only 18, Moore’s journey has been one of patience, promise, and flashes of brilliance. He broke into Tottenham’s senior setup toward the end of the 2023/24 campaign, making his debut against Manchester City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Since then, he has been considered one of the most exciting young players to emerge from Spurs’ academy. Last season, he featured 21 times across all competitions, scoring once and providing two assists, an impressive return for a teenager just finding his footing in professional football.
With Thomas Frank now in charge at Tottenham, the new coaching team made the strategic decision to send Moore out on loan for the 2025/26 season, aiming to give him valuable first-team experience.
Rangers secured his signature, offering him a platform to develop in a competitive environment. However, the move hasn’t gone as smoothly as planned.

Former Rangers manager Russell Martin gave him limited opportunities, starting him in only four games, which understandably impacted his confidence.
That makes his recent international performance even more significant. Representing England Under-19s, Moore exploded into life with a sensational hat-trick against Belgium.
Playing alongside fellow Spurs academy product Callum Olusesi, he opened his account just before half-time, doubling England’s lead after Shumaira Mheuka’s opener.
He then struck again in the 58th and 65th minutes, completing his hat-trick in style before being substituted in the 67th minute to a warm ovation from his teammates.
For a player who has endured a challenging few months, the hat-trick felt like redemption. It was a display full of composure, energy, and technical quality qualities that Tottenham fans have come to associate with him.
Each goal showcased a different side of his game timing, precision, and confidence and none of it looked like the performance of a player low on belief.
Moore’s display also highlights his mental resilience. Despite the tough start to life at Rangers, he continues to respond on the pitch, proving his determination to succeed at the highest level.
His performance for England Under-19s mirrors the hat-trick he scored for the Under-17s back in November 2023, showing a steady progression through the national team ranks and reaffirming his consistency when given the opportunity to express himself.
For Tottenham, this is a hugely encouraging sign. The club has been careful in managing Moore’s development, especially after learning from the past where several promising youngsters were rushed or mismanaged.
Spurs view him as a long-term asset and believe his time in Scotland even with its challenges will ultimately benefit his maturity and toughness.
Meanwhile, the atmosphere at Rangers has been far from stable. The club’s internal issues and fan unrest have made it difficult for young players to thrive, and Moore has felt the ripple effects of that environment.
However, his international exploits could serve as the spark he needs to reignite his confidence and form upon his return to Ibrox.
Reports have even hinted that Steven Gerrard could be lined up to take charge, which could provide a more positive and supportive environment for Moore to flourish.
Despite speculation about an early recall, Tottenham reportedly have no plans to cut his loan short. They want him to continue gaining valuable experience in Scotland and learn to adapt to different styles of football a crucial step in his long-term development.
For now, Moore’s focus will be on carrying his England momentum back into club football. His hat-trick against Belgium wasn’t just three goals; it was a statement a reminder that class is permanent and confidence can always return. If he continues on this trajectory, Tottenham may soon have another homegrown star ready to shine on the biggest stage.
