£100k/week Arsenal star now ready to make Tottenham switch
Tottenham Hotspur are continuing to strengthen their offensive lineup, with recent performances from Brennan Johnson and Dominic Solanke providing consistent goal-scoring power.
Despite this, Spurs remain vigilant in the transfer market, looking for potential upgrades. One player that has caught their attention for some time is Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze.
Although Tottenham had the opportunity to activate his £68 million release clause this past summer, their priority was to secure a striker, leading them to sign Solanke instead. However, Eze is still on their radar for future transfers.
According to Football Insider, Eze is open to the idea of leaving Crystal Palace in 2025 for a new opportunity, and Tottenham are a potential destination.
Liverpool are also reportedly interested in acquiring the talented midfielder next year. While Eze’s contract with Palace runs until 2027, his release clause remains an accessible £68 million, should Spurs decide to pursue him seriously.
Given that Eze currently earns £100,000 per week in south London, wages would likely not be a stumbling block for Tottenham.
As Son Heung-min enters his 30s, Tottenham must begin preparing for a future without their South Korean star. Eze, with his versatility and long-term potential, would be an ideal investment for the club’s left flank.
Last season, he scored 11 goals and provided six assists, showcasing his attacking prowess and proving himself as one of the Premier League’s rising talents.
At 26 years old, Eze still has his best footballing years ahead, and the chance to stay in London—where he has spent most of his career—could make Spurs an attractive option for him.
Eze is also capable of playing as an attacking midfielder, adding further depth and flexibility to Tottenham’s squad. While Liverpool is also in the race for his signature, Spurs have the advantage of location, as Eze would not have to uproot from London.
Additionally, Eze’s familiarity with the city, having been born and raised there, could influence his decision. Nonetheless, Liverpool’s Champions League status and regular contention for Premier League titles could make them a strong competitor for the player.
Interestingly, Eze’s career path has a few parallels with Harry Kane. Both players spent time in Arsenal’s academy before moving on to different clubs and ultimately making their mark on the other side of North London.
If Eze were to reach anything close to the heights that Kane achieved at Tottenham, it would be a significant win for the club. For now, it remains to be seen where Eze’s future lies, but Spurs seem poised to make a move if the opportunity arises.
Securing Eze would not only provide Tottenham with a dynamic offensive option but would also allow them to build a team capable of competing for major titles in the long term.
His technical skills, vision, and ability to break down defenses could transform Spurs’ attack in the coming years. The battle for his signature is likely to intensify, with Liverpool expected to push hard for the player, but Tottenham’s interest signals their commitment to strengthening the squad for sustained success.
